- Tissue stains: PAS w/without diastase, Alcian blue w/without hyaluronidase, Alcian blue/PAS (routinely performed on upper gastrointestinal endoscopic biopsies), Von Kossa, Fontana Masson, Reticulum, Trichrome and Iron (the latter three routinely performed on liver and bone marrow biopsies), Congo red, Oil Red O, PTAH, Van Gieson, Orcein.

- Our lab is equipped with 4-color analysis Becton-Dickinson FACSCalibur flow cytometer, performing the following tests:
- Leukemia/lymphoma immunophenotyping panels; analysis can be performed on blood, bone marrow, peritoneal and cerebrospinal fluid, solid tissues (lymph nodes, spleen, liver, skin, etc)
- Quantification of CD4+ , CD8+, and CD3+ cells (percentage and absolute count) for AIDS panels
- Quantification of any cell subset (T cells, B cells, myeloid cells)
- Quantification of residual WBC in blood components (platelet concentrates, red blood cell concentrates, etc).
- Detection of cytoplasmic antigens (kappa, lambda, ZAP-70, cytokines, others)
- DNA ploidy and cell cycle analysis
- Apoptosis and cell viability (TUNEL assay, Annexin V, propidium iodide)
- Tetramer analysis to detect T cells responsive to specific antigens (in development).

· Molecular and genetic testing
